Why Me Lord?
why me Lord?
what have i ever done,
to deserve even one,
of the pleasure i've known,
tell me Lord,
what did i ever do,
that was worth lovin' you,
for the kindness you've shown,
chorus:
Lord help me Jesus,
i've wasted it so help me Jesus,
i know what i am,
but now that i know,
that i needed you so help me Jesus,
my souls in your hand,
verse 2:
try me Lord,
if you think there's a way,
i can try to repay,
all i've takin' from you,
maybe lord,
i can show someone else,
what i've been through myself,
on my way back to you,
chorus (x2)
Jesus, my soul's in Your hands
~~~through it all~~~
I've had many tears and sorrows
I've had questions for tomorrow
There've been times I didn't know right from wrong
But in every situation
God gave blessed consolation
That my trials only come to make me strong
I've been a lot of places
And I've seen so many faces
But there've been times I've felt so all alone
But in that lonely hour
In that precious, lonely hour
Jesus let me know I was His own
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to depend upon His Word
So I thank God for the mountains
And I thank Him for the valleys
I thank Him for the storms He's brought me through
Cause if I never had a problem
I wouldn't know that He could solve them
I wouldn't know what faith in His Word could do
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to depend upon His Word
Yes, I've learned to depend upon His Word
I've learned to depend upon His Word
I've had questions for tomorrow
There've been times I didn't know right from wrong
But in every situation
That my trials only come to make me strong
And I've seen so many faces
But there've been times I've felt so all alone
But in that lonely hour
In that precious, lonely hour
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to trust in God
Through it all
Through it all
Becoming a Missionary
Few days ago, I received a text message from a grade school friend asking me to be back in missions. Messages to inspire quoted from Christian Service & Ministry of Healing. It was quiet tough to decide since I still have resentments. He even offered me to have a medical training with them. And it was really good though. But I was thinking still have to iron-out things in my life before heading back.
So, what does being on missions really mean? God wants people who are available to commit than having people who have great talents without commitment. This phrase is really tough for me.
Quiet bored being alone at home surfing today, I came across an article about becoming a missionary. I was quiet hesitant to read but anyway I spent seconds to read until I find it interesting. This talks about Elisabeth Elliot,Ii knew nothing about her so I searched for it.
Elisabeth Elliot was once a missionary in the jungles of South America. Some of us cannot discern a life like that. Each of us has our own perspective and may have skeptical ideas of what the mission field is all about, many of which are erroneous or idealistic.
Here's the article I read about her interview through her radio ministry GATEWAY TO JOY.
Elisabeth Elliot: "You are loved with an everlasting love." That's what the Bible says, "and underneath are the everlasting arms." This is your friend, Elisabeth Elliot, continuing my talk today to any who might be possibly considering missionary work.
I want to commend to you the possibility of doing missionary work, lifetime missionary work. That's a great goal. Of course there are many opportunities for short-term missions, but you're not likely to have to be totally immersed in the culture of the people if it's short-term. Very likely you will have translators. And all of that's wonderful, I'm not knocking short-term missions, but I do believe that there are a number of you out there who are seriously considering the possibility of becoming full-time missionaries.
Yesterday I gave you few hints, and today I want to begin by speaking about a woman by the name of Lillias Trotter. She was an Englishwoman who came from a very wealthy family in London. She was born in 1853 and died in 1928. She was a beautiful painter. John Ruskin was her tutor. He was convinced that if Lillias Trotter would give up this crazy idea of wanting to be a missionary that she would be a world famous artist.
Lillias Trotter chose rather to be a missionary. She went to Algiers in North Africa. There are three biographies of her. One of them is by a man named Stewart. The title is The Love That Was Stronger. I think that one is out of print. Then there's one by Patricia Saint John entitled Until the Day Breaks. That's published by OM Publishing. The last I heard it was still in print. There is a newer one called A Passion for the Impossible. That is a wonderful new book that has come out.
Lillias Trotter gave meticulous attention to details, which she said was demanded by the majesty of the indwelling Christ. There is something for all of us to ponder and think about. How meticulously do we give attention to details in our private life? In our homes? In the way we keep the kitchen, the dining room, the bedroom, the bathroom?
Someone may say, "Do things like that really matter to God?" Well yes, I have Scripture that tells me everything is meant to be done decently and in order. I love Lillias Trotter's recognition of the fact that she had to give meticulous attention to detail because it was demanded by the majesty of an indwelling Christ.
Concerning this, she quotes in her journal from an article by Sir Robert Ball who says, "There are animals so wonderfully minute that if a thousand of them were ranked abreast they could easily swing through the eye of the finest needle without being thrown out of order. Yet each of these minute creatures is a highly organized number of particles capable of moving about, of finding and devouring food and of behaving in all respects as becomes an animal as distinguished from a fragment of unorganized matter."
Lillias' comment about that is, "Is that not equal in marvel to the other end of the scale of creation where we lift up our eyes on high and behold who hath created these things. He meeteth out the heavens with the span and comprehendeth the dust of the earth in a measure. The great and the small again alike to Him. How childish it must seem to them up in heaven when we measure the importance of a thing by its size."
She says, "Meeting His wishes," speaking of Jesus Christ, "Meeting His wishes is all that matters. He can find His glory in the day of small things out here as well as in the great spiritual movements of other lands."
At a conference held in her home in Algiers in 1891 she had drawn up some questions for consideration. "Number one, are the converts growing towards the standard that we should wish, the standard of Christ's definition of discipleship? Is the aim of our ministry to them measured by the pattern given in Saint Paul's epistles in caring, in sacrifice, in intercession? Number three, are we fulfilling in our own souls the conditions for blessing that God has laid down? See Malachi 3:10. If so, the promise of the next verse will be set free."
Amy Carmichael was the founder of the Dohnavur Fellowship in India. When people wrote to her suggesting that they might like to come out to work with her in India she would send these questions to perspective recruits, and these are tough ones, believe me. Number one, "Do you truly desire to live a crucified life? This may mean doing very humble things joyfully for His name's sake." Ponder that. Do you truly desire to live a crucified life?
Next question, "Does the thought of hardness draw you or repel you?"
Next question, "Do you love unity and loyalty? What does the word loyalty mean to you?"
"Do you realize that we are a family, not an institution?" She had established a wonderful home for little children who otherwise would have been committed to the temples for temple prostitution, beginning in their babyhood. So she writes, "Do you realize that we are family, not an institution? In our work for our children and others we all cooperate as need arises. Are you willing to do whatever helps most?"
And I want to aid there, a caution. Don't make up your mind that you are going to go to Africa or to China or to India to do a specific kind of work. Because it's my experience that virtually every missionary is going to be asked to do a whole lot of things that were not on your job description. "Are you willing to do whatever helps most?"
"Can you mention any experience that you have passed through in your Christian life, which brought you into a new discovery of your union with the crucified, risen and enthroned Lord?" That's a very insightful question. "Can you mention any experience that you have passed through in your Christian life, which brought you into a new discovery of your union with the crucified, risen and enthroned Lord?"
By all means (and this is Elisabeth talking again now, not Amy Carmichael) learn some of the great hymns of the faith. I find them wonderfully faith strengthening. And many a time in my darkest days as a missionary these have been what brought me out of the miry clay. For example:
"If thou but suffer God to guide thee and hope in Him through all thy ways, He'll give thee strength what ere' betide thee and bear thee through the evil days. Who trusts in God's unchanging love, builds on a rock that not can move. Obey thou restless heart. Be still and wait in cheerful hope, content to take what ere' His gracious will, His all-discerning love has sent.
"Nor doubt our inmost wants are known to Him who chose us for His own." And the last stanza of this hymn says, "Sing, pray and swerve not from His ways, but do thine own part faithfully. Trust His rich promises of grace, so shall they be fulfilled in thee. God never yet forsook in need the soul that trusted Him indeed."
God strengthen and help you, dear friend. Keep your eyes always on the invisible things. The visible ones are merely transitory. Nothing is worth living for unless it's worth dying for. I'd better repeat that. Nothing is worth living for unless it's worth dying for.
One day we'll see Him face to face. Will we hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." By His grace we will. For in Isaiah 50:7 we have this promise, "The Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded. Therefore have I set my face like a flint and I know that I shall not be ashamed."
When Jim Elliot was considering going to the mission field he didn't know where to go or what to do, but he had two good ideas. He decided to start corresponding with a missionary in India and one in Ecuador, seeking to determine which field he should go to. In view of the information he received he made a choice--Ecuador. But he, like you, had done a lot of thinking and praying. It wasn't a shot in the dark. It was an act of faith in a God who promises to guide.
Jim used to say, "You can't steer a parked car." It makes sense to move in the direction that you believe God is leading--trusting Him as a faithful Shepherd to lead you in paths of righteousness. Is He going to make it too hard for His obedient sheep? Of course not! If you are steering your car in the wrong direction you can count on Isaiah 30:21. Isaiah 30:21.
Blessing in many ways to all,
Joy
Trust His Heart
Sometimes life is so cruel that we need to have someone to confide and embrace in all our worries and pains. I've been searching for this song in ages but hadn't seen it. Now that I'm struggling so much with my faith and calling, i found this song. What a great timing! I hope I could reach out to those who are emotionally hurt, physically in pain and spiritually weak. It is so refreshing to feel God's embrace. I dunno what's His plan will be in my life. May the choices I make be in accordance with the master's plan.
Trust His Heart - BABBIE MASON
All things work for our good
Though sometimes we don't see how they could
Struggles that break our hearts in two
Sometimes blind us to the truth
Our Father knows what best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim
And you just don't see Him
Remember you're never alone
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart
He sees the master plan
And He holds our future in His hand
So don't live as those who have no hope
All our hope is found in Him
We see the present clearly
But He sees the first and the last
And like a tapestry
He's weaving you and me
To someday be just like Him
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart
He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart
When you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Why Me Lord?
Why Me Lord,
What have I ever done
To deserve even one Of the Pleasures I've known
Tell me Lord, What did I ever do
That was worth loving you
Or the Kindness you've shown.
Lord help me Jesus,
I've wasted it so Help me Jesus
I know what I am
Now that I know that I've needed you so Help me Jesus,
My Soul's in your Hand.
Try me Lord,
If you think there's a Way
I can try to repay
All I've taken from you
Maybe Lord, I can show someone else
What I've been through myself
On my Way back to you.
Yes Lord, help me Jesus,
I've wasted it so Help me Jesus
I know what I am Now
that I know that I've needed you so Help me Jesus,
My Soul's in your Hand.
Jesus, My Soul's in your Hand,
Amen
What have I ever done
My New Favorite Songs
Lately, i was searching for new songs to learn and I've got these as my favorites. Talks about life and how God has been there even in the midst of His silence.
When I Cry, Will You Love Jesus More and When God Made You
When I Cry by Gaither vocal band
Makin' a list of all of the good things You've done for me
Lord, I've never been one to complain
But right now I'm lost and I can't find my way
My world's come apart and it's breakin' my heart
But it helps to know Your heart is breakin' too
When I cry, You cry
When I hurt, You hurt
When I've lost someone
It takes a piece of You, too
And when I fall on my face
You fill me with grace
'Cause nothin' breaks Your heart
Or tears You apart
Like when I cry
Alone in the dark, face in my hands, crying out to You
Lord, there's never been a time in my life
There's so much at stake, there's so much to lose
But I trust it to You
You'll bring me through
And it helps me to know that I'm not alone
When I cry, You cry
When I hurt, You hurt
When I've lost someone
It takes a piece of You, too
And when I fall on my face
You fill me with grace
'Cause nothin' breaks Your heart
Or tears You apart
Like when I cry
You're the one who calmed the raging sea
You're the one who made the blind to see
You looked through all of heaven and eternity
And through it all you saw me...
When I cry, You cry
When I hurt, You hurt
And when I've lost someone it takes a piece of You, too
When I fall on my face, You fill me with grace
Nothing breaks your heart, or tears you apart
Like when I cry
Will You Love Jesus More by Phillips, Craig & Dean
I feel quite sure if I did my best
I could maybe impress you
With tender words and a harmony
A clever rhyme or two
But if all I've done in the time we've shared
Is turn your eyes on me
Then I've failed at what I've been called to do
There's someone else I want you to see
[CHORUS]
Will you love Jesus more
When we go our different ways
When this moment is a memory
Will you remember His face
Will you look back and realize
You sensed His love more than you did before
I'd pray for nothing less
Than for you to love Jesus more
I'd like to keep these memories
In frames of gold and silver
And reminisce a year from now
About the smiles we've shared
But above all else I hope you will come
To know the Father's love
When you see the Lord face to face
You'll hear Him say "well done"
[REPEAT CHORUS TWICE]
I'd pray for nothing less
Than for you to love Jesus more
When God Made You by NewSong
(Guys)
Its always been a mystery to me,
How two hearts can come together,
And love can last forever.
But now that I have found you I believe,
That a miracle has come when God sends the perfect one.
So gone are all my questions about why,
And i've never been so sure of anything in my life
~chorus~
Oh I wonder what God was thinking,when he created you.
I wonder if He knew everything I would need,
Because he made all my dreams come true.
When God made you, He must have been thinking about me.
(Girls)
Ooo ooo,I promise that wherever you may go, wherever life may lead you,
With all my heart I'll be there too.
And from this moment on I want you to know,
I'll let nothing come between us, and I will love the ones you love.
(guy):So gone are all my questions about why (girl echoes):about why
Duet:Oh I wonder what God was thinking when he created you,
I wonder if He knew everythin I would need,
Because He made all my dreams come true.
When God made you He must've been thinking about me.
Bridge
He made the sun He made the moon,
To harmonize a perfect tune,
One can't do without the other they just have to be together.
And that is how I know its true,
Your for me and i'm for you and my world
Just cant be right without you in my life
Chorus
(guy) He must have heard every prayer I've been praying (girl echo)
I've been praying (both)He must've knew everything I would need
When God made you, He must've been thinking about me.
Holding Hands by Steve Green
One day, far away, you gently won my heart
And one night, by candlelight, we made a vow to never part
And then it seemed just like a dream
When wide eyed, side by side
We faced the future holding hands
Years fly, they hurry by, the simple times are gone
Bills due, a kid or two, a week can feel eight days long
By fading light, let's kiss goodnight
And then we trace God's daily grace
Thankful we're still holding hands
There's a hope that won't let go
There's a truth we know
God is holding us
In His arms
Thoughts stray far away to all that lies ahead
In frail days when strength fades
Will we still mean all that we said?
Our love's secure, so rest assured
Come what may 'til that day
We'll walk forever holding hands
By God's grace 'til that day
We'll walk forever holding hands
I feel quite sure if I did my best
I could maybe impress you
With tender words and a harmony
A clever rhyme or two
But if all I've done in the time we've shared
Is turn your eyes on me
Then I've failed at what I've been called to do
There's someone else I want you to see
[CHORUS]
Will you love Jesus more
When we go our different ways
When this moment is a memory
Will you remember His face
Will you look back and realize
You sensed His love more than you did before
I'd pray for nothing less
Than for you to love Jesus more
I'd like to keep these memories
In frames of gold and silver
And reminisce a year from now
About the smiles we've shared
But above all else I hope you will come
To know the Father's love
When you see the Lord face to face
You'll hear Him say "well done"
[REPEAT CHORUS TWICE]
I'd pray for nothing less
Than for you to love Jesus more
When God Made You by NewSong
(Guys)
Its always been a mystery to me,
How two hearts can come together,
And love can last forever.
But now that I have found you I believe,
That a miracle has come when God sends the perfect one.
So gone are all my questions about why,
And i've never been so sure of anything in my life
~chorus~
Oh I wonder what God was thinking,when he created you.
I wonder if He knew everything I would need,
Because he made all my dreams come true.
When God made you, He must have been thinking about me.
(Girls)
Ooo ooo,I promise that wherever you may go, wherever life may lead you,
With all my heart I'll be there too.
And from this moment on I want you to know,
I'll let nothing come between us, and I will love the ones you love.
(guy):So gone are all my questions about why (girl echoes):about why
Duet:Oh I wonder what God was thinking when he created you,
I wonder if He knew everythin I would need,
Because He made all my dreams come true.
When God made you He must've been thinking about me.
Bridge
He made the sun He made the moon,
To harmonize a perfect tune,
One can't do without the other they just have to be together.
And that is how I know its true,
Your for me and i'm for you and my world
Just cant be right without you in my life
Chorus
(guy) He must have heard every prayer I've been praying (girl echo)
I've been praying (both)He must've knew everything I would need
When God made you, He must've been thinking about me.
Holding Hands by Steve Green
One day, far away, you gently won my heart
And one night, by candlelight, we made a vow to never part
And then it seemed just like a dream
When wide eyed, side by side
We faced the future holding hands
Years fly, they hurry by, the simple times are gone
Bills due, a kid or two, a week can feel eight days long
By fading light, let's kiss goodnight
And then we trace God's daily grace
Thankful we're still holding hands
There's a hope that won't let go
There's a truth we know
God is holding us
In His arms
Thoughts stray far away to all that lies ahead
In frail days when strength fades
Will we still mean all that we said?
Our love's secure, so rest assured
Come what may 'til that day
We'll walk forever holding hands
By God's grace 'til that day
We'll walk forever holding hands
20 Simple Ways to Get Happy
I wanna share a post from DAILY GOOD:
http://www.dailygood.org/more.php?n=3575
Happiness is a journey, not a destination; happiness is to be found along the way not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it's too late. The time for happiness is today not tomorrow. --Paul H. Dunn
Tip of the Day:"Happiness is ephemeral, subject to the vagaries of everything from the weather to the size of a bank account. We're not suggesting that you can reach a permanent state called "happiness" and remain there. But there are many ways to swerve off the path of anxiety, anger, frustration, and sadness into a state of happiness once or even several times throughout the day." This Reader's Digest article offers 20 ideas to help get you started.
1. Practice mindfulness. Be in the moment. Instead of worrying about your checkup tomorrow while you have dinner with your family, focus on the here and now -- the food, the company, the conversation.
2. Laugh out loud. Just anticipating a happy, funny event can raise levels of endorphins and other pleasure-inducing hormones and lower production of stress hormones. Researchers at the University of California, Irvine, tested 16 men who all agreed they thought a certain videotape was funny. Half were told three days in advance they would watch it. They started experiencing biological changes right away. When they actually watched the video, their levels of stress hormones dropped significantly, while their endorphin levels rose 27 percent and their growth hormone levels (indicating benefit to the immune system) rose 87 percent.
3. Go to sleep. We have become a nation of sleep-deprived citizens. Taking a daily nap or getting into bed at 8 p.m. one night with a good book -- and turning the light out an hour later -- can do more for your mood and outlook on life than any number of bubble baths or massages.
4. Hum along. Music soothes more than the savage beast. Studies find music activates parts of the brain that produce happiness -- the same parts activated by food or sex. It's also relaxing. In one study older adults who listened to their choice of music during outpatient eye surgery had significantly lower heart rates, blood pressure, and cardiac workload (that is, their heart didn't have to work as hard) as those who had silent surgery.
5. Declutter. It's nearly impossible to meditate, breathe deeply, or simply relax when every surface is covered with papers and bills and magazines, your cabinets bulge, and you haven't balanced your checkbook in six months. Plus, the repetitive nature of certain cleaning tasks -- such as sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing -- can be meditative in and of itself if you focus on what you're doing.
6. Just say no. Eliminate activities that aren't necessary and that you don't enjoy. If there are enough people already to handle the church bazaar and you're feeling stressed by the thought of running the committee for yet another year, step down and let someone else handle things.
7. Make a list. There's nothing like writing down your tasks to help you organize your thoughts and calm your anxiety. Checking off each item provides a great sense of fulfillment.
8.Do one thing at a time. Edward Suarez, Ph.D., associate professor of medical psychology at Duke, found that people who multitask are more likely to have high blood pressure. Take that finding to heart. Instead of talking on the phone while you fold laundry or clean the kitchen, sit down in a comfortable chair and turn your entire attention over to the conversation. Instead of checking e-mail as you work on other projects, turn off your e-mail function until you finish the report you're writing. This is similar to the concept of mindfulness.
9. Garden. Not only will the fresh air and exercise provide their own stress reduction and feeling of well-being, but the sense of accomplishment that comes from clearing a weedy patch, watching seeds turn into flowers, or pruning out dead wood will last for hours, if not days.
10. Tune out the news. For one week go without reading the newspaper, watching the news, or scanning the headlines online. Instead, take a vacation from the misery we're exposed to every day via the media and use that time for a walk, a meditation session, or to write in your journal.
11. Take a dog for a walk. There are numerous studies that attest to the stress-relieving benefits of pets. In one analysis researchers evaluated the heart health of 240 couples, half of whom owned a pet. Those couples with pets had significantly lower heart rates and blood pressure levels when exposed to stressors than the couples who did not have pets. In fact, the pets worked even better at buffering stress than the spouses did.
12. Scent the air. Research finds that the benefits of aromatherapy in relieving stress are real. In one study people exposed to rosemary had lower anxiety levels, increased alertness, and performed math computations faster. Adults exposed to lavender showed an increase in the type of brain waves that suggest increased relaxation. Today you have a variety of room-scenting methods, from plug-in air fresheners to essential oil diffusers, potpourri, and scented candles.
13. Ignore the stock market. Simply getting your quarterly 401(k) statement can be enough to send your blood pressure skyrocketing. In fact, Chinese researchers found a direct link between the daily performance of the stock market and the mental health of those who closely followed it. Astute investors know that time heals most financial wounds, so give your investments time -- and give yourself a break.
14. Visit a quiet place. Libraries, museums, gardens, and places of worship provide islands of peace and calm in today's frantic world. Find a quiet place near your house and make it your secret getaway.
15. Volunteer. Helping others enables you to put your own problems into perspective and also provides social interaction. While happy people are more likely to help others, helping others increases your happiness. One study found that volunteer work enhanced all six aspects of well-being: happiness, life satisfaction, self-esteem, sense of control over life, physical health, and depression.
16. Spend time alone. Although relationships are one of the best antidotes to stress, sometimes you need time alone to recharge and reflect. Take yourself out to lunch or to a movie, or simply spend an afternoon reading, browsing in a bookstore, or antiquing.
17. Walk mindfully. You probably already know that exercise is better than tranquilizers for relieving anxiety and stress. But what you do with your mind while you're walking can make your walk even more beneficial. In a study called the Ruth Stricker Mind/Body Study, researchers divided 135 people into five groups of walkers for 16 weeks. Group one walked briskly, group two at a slow pace, and group three at a slow pace while practicing "mindfulness," a mental technique to bring about the relaxation response, a physiological response in which the heart rate slows and blood pressure drops. This group was asked to pay attention to their footsteps, counting one, two, one, two, and to visualize the numbers in their mind. Group four practiced a form of tai chi, and group five served as the control, changing nothing about their lives. The group practicing mindfulness showed significant declines in anxiety and had fewer negative and more positive feelings about themselves. Overall they experienced the same stress-reducing effects of the brisk walkers. Better yet, the effects were evident immediately.
18. Give priority to close relationships. One study of more than 1,300 men and women of various ages found that those who had a lot of supportive friends were much more likely to have healthier blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar metabolism, and stress hormone levels than those with two or fewer close friends. Women, and to a lesser extent men, also seemed to benefit from good relationships with their parents and spouses. Studies also find that people who feel lonely, depressed, and isolated are three to five times more likely to get sick and die prematurely than those who have feelings of love, connection, and community.
19. Take care of the soul. In study after study, actively religious people are happier and cope better with crises, according to David Myers, Ph.D., a professor of psychology at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. For many people faith provides a support community, a sense of life's meaning, feelings of ultimate acceptance, a reason to focus beyond yourself, and a timeless perspective on life's woes. Even if you're not religious, a strong spirituality may offer similar benefits.
20. Count your blessings. People who pause each day to reflect on some positive aspect of their lives (their health, friends, family, freedom, education, etc.) experience a heightened sense of well-being.
Be The Change:If you could add your own happiness "tool" to the list above, what would it be?
Children's day
Every 2nd Friday and Saturday in January, Thais celebrate Children's Day. It's really interesting to see the parents giving gifts to their kids. At school, various governments offices donated presents to all the students.
I've read these finest words from Kahlil Gibran about child-raising.
I've read these finest words from Kahlil Gibran about child-raising.
Your children are not your children
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through but not from you,
And thought they are with you yet they belong not to you.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through but not from you,
And thought they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living
arrows are sent forth.
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living
arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.
Just so thankful for the wonderful parents God has given me. My brother and I have gone this far 'coz they just let the Archer bends with them. While living on this earth, we may also fly as high as we can to share God's ultimate blessing to us.
Have you ever read the Bible?
Happy Christmas and a Joyous New year to all.
I'm teaching in a Buddhist school but we also celebrated Christmas. They celebrated it just for season's sake. Yesterday, while I was standing at the school front door to greet the students, me and my co-ESL teacher were talking about the afternoon Christmas party. He's from Wales. All of a sudden, he asked me, Have you ever read the Bible? so I said "yes"... then he added, Jesus died in the end and He disappeared. He looked faithless and never believed at all.
What a challenge!!! We all have our own backyard to sow the seeds of God's love. Christians are sometimes counting the number of countries where Christianism was opened... but... there are still millions of people in our own backyard who never heard of Jesus. How can tell them of His love???
As the song says:
Somewhere across the waters, there are villages and cities
They never heard of Jesus
Because no one has ever told them
We've got to tell the world
The Lord is soon to come.
How can we tell it to the world??? Have we experienced the greatest love so we can prove as we sow the seed? I believe each of us has our own talent that God has given for us to multiply. We do have different callings. One may tell us to do this..... or do that..... but each one of us is uniquely designed for God's purpose. We can never be the same with our ancestors, or parents or brothers or great grandparents. We are what we are. God has given us the mind to decide, to conceive good deeds and to bring forth glory to God. The very person who will be meeting God in His soon return.
May this year be a glorious one... as God needs workers for the harvest is great and the workers are few. Happy New Year!!!
travel
Anne Frank:
The best remedy for those who are afraid,
lonely or unhappy is to go outside,
somewhere where they can be quiet,
alone with the heavens, nature and God.
Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be
and that God wishes to see people happy,
amidst the simple beauty of nature
Here are some of my wonderful travel in God's handiwork.
Life is Amazing
Lately, I'm hunting a better job hoping I could find a good one. Every challenge is an opportunity to develop a new talent, skill or knowledge.
Early in the morning, i was really fresh looking for an interview. I missed to get a shot though. About 5 hours later... this is how i look...
At the end of that street above is a small park. Aerobics is a lot of fun, so I joined but a bit shy with an weird suite... hahah
My tiny parasites in the stomach were complaining... So, while waiting for the final bus to my way home, i had my dinner along with my friends. 2 eggs and a bottle of milk...
You want some??? I'm on the bus stop... shameless it seems...
First time ever were eating our dinner like this... It's a good experience though.
A sticky rice, a drumstick and a slice of bread plus water!!! We're satisfied!
ZZZZzzzzz... we're full and now... a good night rest... in the bus.
Please don't disturb, brain at rest.
Life is amazing and confusing
Sometimes happy sometimes sad
Life is a series of decisions
Life is amazing and confusing
